WHY I LOVE HAMILTON!

Hamilton is defined by its geography, and its most obvious gem is The Niagara Escarpment (“the mountain” to locals), which cuts through the middle of the city, providing outstanding vistas, trails, and waterfalls.

The Escarpment is a wonderful way to explore nature, via the Bruce Trail and many conservation areas, especially at this time of year!

WHY I LOVE HAMILTON!

Hamilton could well be known as the "City of Waterfalls".  Hamilton boasts over 100 cascades and waterfalls and it's been said that if the Escarpment is the city's crown, then its waterfalls are the sparkling jewels
in that tiara.

One of Hamilton's top Waterfalls is Albion Falls at King's Forest Park (pictured below) which runs from the Red Hill Creek Creek, it has a height of 62.32 feet/19 meters and a width of 59.04 feet/18 meters and is very easily accessible with a year-round flow of water.

Right here in Stoney Creek we have Devil's Punchbowl Fall's which does not run all year, but is quite the site at 121.36 feet/37 meters high and a width of 9.84 feet/3 meters. It is accessible from Ridge Road. The Devil's Punchbowl is marked with a large cross that lights up each night and can be seen from many spots throughout the City.

Hiking the Bruce Trail will take you past many of the falls, and maps can be found on the websites listed below. Wouldn't it be nice to visit all of the waterfalls in Hamilton? We think so!
